On Saturday, August 12, EDGE Foundation presented Wingfest XVIII in downtown East Dubuque. RT&T Enterprises and RT&T Repair sponsored the event. WingFest included wing tasting, food and drink vendors, music by Unicorn Fist and free inflatables for the kids. The event also had fireworks at dusk. Left: A huge number of golfers turned out in support of the Woodbine Bend Golf Course and Restaurant’s annual “Play it Forward” benefit tournament, Saturday, August 5. Initially formed in 2002 to support ALS Foundation research (Lou Gehrig’s disease) the Stoddard family, owners of Woodbine Bend, adapted the tournament in 2013 to support causes and needs in Jo Daviess County. Except for a two-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic the benefit tournament resumed in 2022 for a total of 19 years, raising over $150,000.00 to date. This year’s event was held in support of Kreider Services of Jo Daviess County to bring their housing into the 21st century, which is in need of repair and regeneration. The mission of Kreider Services since 1952 is to “Provide meaningful supports to people with disabilities to live, work and participate in their community.” Fundraising results will be released at a later date. Here, members of the Stoddard family, Kreider employees and residents of their group home raise their arms in enthusiasm during the tournament.

The Elizabeth High School Class of 1968 held its 55th reunion on Friday, July 21 at Cajun Jack’s Bar and Grill in Elizabeth. Twenty class members attended the event.
