Six East Dubuque High School students sang in the Northwest Upstate Illini Conference music festival on Friday, March 17. Top choir and band students from the region were chosen to participate. The songs sung were “Fire” by Katarina Gimon, “Set Me as a Seal Upon Your Heart” by David N. Childs, “O Sing! Rejoice!” arr. by Liebergen, “When You Believe” arr. by Audrey Snyder, and a combined piece with band “Within These Hallowed Halls” by James Swearingen. EDHS students participate in music festival
On Tuesday, March 28 the third graders in Mrs. Linda Schafer’s and Mrs. Deb Reese’s classes at River Ridge enjoyed their annual Fine Dining Field Trip. For several weeks, they learned about and practiced their best manners in Mrs. Kristy Leitzen’s guidance classes. Then their manners were put to the test when they dressed up and headed to Chestnut Mountain to enjoy a very “fancy” meal. You are invited to come along on an extraordinary musical adventure with Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in Jungle Book–The Musical on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at the River Ridge Middle School. With the help of his friends–Baloo, the bear; Bagheera, the panther; and Kaa, the python–Mowgli is learning to survive as they teach him about ’Jungle Law.’ But the jungle is also the home of Shere Khan, the dangerous man-eating tiger who has vowed to destroy Mowgli. The musical is directed by Judy Tippett and Thomas Taylor. Tickets available at the door: $7 General Admission and $5 Students/Seniors.
